Another warm day today. Found out why the Bus AC hasn't done the job. Seems not running the engine enough this winter allowed refrigerant to leak from the system. When the seals are not lubricated by the oil in the refrigerant they dry out a bit and leak refrigerant. I should have known better. We suffered today with outside temps in the 90's with no cooling. Also something else happened to the Bus. The ABS light, automatic braking system, came on. I still had brakes but after calling Freightliner this morning, the makers of the chassis, I found out I should have rinsed of the underside of the Bus a few times this winter to remove the salt that came from Florida Bay in the wind. Seems the sensors got corroded. Oh my. So I got some refrigerant at Wall Mart, washed down the underside, and hope for the best. Lessons of life.
We are staying at a campground just down the street from the Daytona speedway. We have been here many times. This is where the eagles live in the nearby trees. We will stay one more day here so I can work on the Bus and hope to see the birds.
