Next State South Carolina

Well, today I finally started to feel a little better, even though the pain at night is still bad. Just need to be patient. David has been so sweet and patient.

We had a pretty grueling trip today, lots of narrow roads and rude drivers. Is it my imagination or are drivers getting less considerate than they used to be? Even though I don't drive the bus, I think an extra pair of eyes is useful.
We drove through most of South Carolina today and finally arrived at our destination, Huntington Beach State Park. It is just beautiful here, right on the ocean and I understood why it was so hard to reserve a site. As we crossed a causeway over the Inter-coastal Waterway on the way to the campground we saw lots of herons, egrets and alligators. I'm always surprised to see alligators this far north and just wonder how they managed to survive the cold winter this year after so many died in the Everglades. Looking forward to walking here later.
We took a walk to the beach in the evening and I used my new walking stick with a hand carved black bear handle, which David had bought for me to take some of the strain off my back.

  1. Glad you are feeling a bit better Lynda. Can you post a picture of your new walking stick?

  2. Oh one of my favorite places to be - Huntington Beach State Park. Usually we can't do state parks because of the trailer, but at HBSP they have NO problem with us (and others) parking cargo trailers across from the office. And, isn't that bicycle path terrific, although I don't imagine you did that this time around Lynda with your back issue!
I'm loving reading about your northern journey ... Hope you are both well. I think of you three so often.
